The wait is almost over! We are delighted to announce that Hade Edge Band will yet again be competing in the 2026 Yorkshire Regional Brass Band Championships this March.
As one of the most prestigious events in the brass banding calendar, the “Yorkshire Areas” brings together the finest musical talent in the region to battle it out for a spot at the National Finals.

The contest will take place at the iconic Huddersfield Town Hall over the weekend of March 7th and 8th. Hade Edge Band will be competing in the Second Section, which is scheduled to take place on:

🎶 The Musical Challenge
This year, all bands in the Second Section will perform the set test piece: “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” by Philip Harper.
Inspired by the classic Jules Verne adventure, the piece is a cinematic musical journey featuring five interlinked sections—from the mysterious depths of “The Coral Kingdom” to a high-energy “Squid Attack.” It’s a technical and evocative work that will truly put our musicians to the test!

The band has been working incredibly hard in rehearsals to perfect every note of Harper’s score. We can’t wait to represent our village and share our music on the regional stage.
