Today we have said the bands “goodbyes” to a very talented past player of Hade Edge Band- Colin Battye of Holmfirth.

Colin played in Hade Edge Band during the 70’and 80’s and there are a number of photographs of him in the band room along with a number of other Battye’s that played in Hade Edge Band.

Colin not only played an instrument, Bb bass, but also carried out a number of committee duties during his time with the band. At his funeral today we heard a recording of Pratty Flowers – the Holmfirth Anthem, which was sung by his relation, Sam Battye.

The Recessional Music was Into The Night- played by Hade Edge Brass Band.

The band send their condolences to Colin’s extended family and donations in lieu of flowers at his funeral today were given to Hade Edge Band. Thank you from all at Hade Edge Band.

Colin will be remembered by many past and present players and committee members as his legacy lives on in the band room.
